Crochet A Trunk-Full O' Fun!
Unbreakable Yarn Bowl
Made using a super bulky smooth yarn, like Zpagetti (Lion Brand), or plarn (plastic bag yarn) or tarn (tees-shirt yarn) & a large crochet hook. (Use the size hook to make tight firm stitches). The Chunky Hooker also has cones of tarn available. (UK site)
Sample used tarn made from Jersey knit sheets. The strips are 3/4 inch wide, then stretched to make the raw edges curl in on itself. Crocheted using a wooden size M/13 (9mm) crochet hook. (You will need about the amount of tarn made with 3 adult large tee shirts.)
Notes:
- Adjust your size by making your flat circle bottom with more or fewer rounds making sure to add one more stitch between increase for each round. (6 more stitches in each round).
- Note how many stitches between increases on the last increase round. This will be the number between decreases on the brim.
- The height of the sides can be adjusted by making more or fewer rounds. (no increases or decreases.)
- Holes do not need to line up. Make a filet design, or even initials.
