Crochet A Trunk-Full O' Fun!


Streamer Summer Hat

Materials: 1 ball medium worsted weight cotton, scraps of cotton in different colors (I used 10 different colors), a size I/9 (5.5mm) and a size G/7 (4.5mm) crochet hook. And the Streamer crochet hat pattern.


Begin with The Streamer Crochet hat pattern on Teresa Richardson's blog. I used her pattern and added the brim. You can also view The Streamer crochet hat on her You Tube channel.

Notes: This pattern uses standard USA crochet terminology.


Front Post Double Crochet, FPDC= work a dc around the post of the


dc. (see video)


Increase, inc= 2 sc in 1 stitch.


Work Even= sc in each sc around.


Reverse sc, RSC= Draw up loop in the next stitch to the right. yo and


draw through 2.


Gauge: round 1-4 of the streamer hat= 3.5 inches (9 cm)


With I hook, follow the Streamer Crochet hat pattern until you have 21 rows. (10 stripes of color scraps)


Round 22: ch 3, dc in each dc and ch-1 space around hat. Sl st into top of beginning ch-3.


Round 23: ch 2, FPDC in each dc around. FPDC around beginning ch-3 of round 22. sl st into first FPD.



BRIM: switch to the G hook. You will now be working in a spiral and not joining ends of rounds. Mark the last stitch in each round.


Round 1: * Sc in 5 dc, inc. Repeat from * around. One sc in each of any remaining stitches.


Round 2: Work even.


Round 3: * Sc in 3 sc,* inc, sc in 6 sc, Repeat from * around. One sc in each of any remaining stitches.


Round 4: Work even.


Round 5: * Sc in 7 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. One sc in each of any remaining stitches.


Round 6: Work even.


Round 7:* Sc in 8 sc, inc. Repeat from * around. One sc in each of any remaining stitches.


Round 8: Work Even.


Round 9: Sc in 4 sc, inc, * sc in 9, inc. Repeat from * around. One sc in each of any remaining stitches.


Rounds 10- 12: work even.


Round 13: Sl st in first s. RSC in each sc around.


Cut yarn and draw in tails.
