Crochet A Trunk-Full O' Fun!
Super Bulky Fingerless Mitts
As a woman with large hands, I have difficulty finding gloves and mitts to fit. I decided to make my own!
size: fits an adult large.
Materials:
About 4 oz of #6 super bulky yarn (6-7wpi). Sample used Red Heart Grande craft yarn.
Size N or 10 mm crochet hook, large eye tapestry needle.
Gauge: 8 sc = 4 inches, 4 sc rounds 2 inches.
Directions: (make 2)
Chain 18.
Round 1: sc 2nd chain from the hook and in each ch across. Join with a sl st to first sc.
(with tapestry needle, use tail to join the chain edges. )
Rounds 2-4: ch 1, sc in each sc around. Sl st to join.
Round 5: (thumb hole round) ch 1(does NOT count as a hdc), hdc in 1st sc, ch 2, sk 2 sc, hdc in remaining sc. Join with a sl st to 1st hdc.(15 hdc, 2 chs)
Round 6: ch 1, sc in 1st hdc, 2 sc in ch-2 sp, sc in remaining 14 hdc around. Sl st to join. (17 sc)
Round 7: ch 1, hdc in each sc around. Sl st to first hdc. (17 hdc)
Rounds 8-11: Sc evenly.
Cuff:
Round 12: Ch 2, dc in each sc around. (17 dc & 1ch-2)
Rounds 13-15: ch 2, (Fpdc around next dc, bpdc around next dc) around cuff. Sl st in first dc. ( 9 ribbed ridges) end off and draw in tails.
