Size: 36 inches long not including fringe, or any size you desire.

Materials: Scraps of medium worsted weight yarn each at least 6 yards long (longer if your scarf will be longer.)

Size J/10 (6mm) crochet hook

Gauge: 4 chain loops = 5 inches; 4 rows 1 inch

Stitch count: multiple of 5 + 4 chains

Notes: Leave beginning tail and ending tails about 5 inches long. These will form the fringe.

They can be trimmed when scarf is finished. End off at the end of each row.

To keep stitches from slanting in one direction turn each row.

Row 1: Leaving 5-inch beginning tail, ch 144. Leaving 5-inch tail, end off.

Row 2: Leaving 5-inch beginning tail, ch 4, sc in 5th ch of row 1, *ch 4, skip 4 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across. (4 chains remain) Leaving 5-inch tail, end off.

Row 3: Leaving 5-inch beginning tail, ch 4, sc in first sc, *chain 4, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. (4 chains remain) Leaving 5-inch tail, end off.

Repeat row 3 until scarf is desired width. Trim fringe evenly.

Turn this into a shawl, wrap or blanket by making longer chains and more rows!

Happy Crocheting!
