Sizes: end after:

4 inches--- round 5

6 inches--- round 8

8 inches--- round 10

9 inches--- round 11.

10 inches-- add 3 rounds of sc in the accent color.

Materials: Medium Worsted weight yarn:

A few yards of black (BL) for nose & eyes & mouth

Bear color, brown (BC)

Main color, white (MC)

Accent color, multi-colored yarn (AC).

Size I/9 (5.5mm) crochet hook.

Notes:

Beginning ch-2 count as a dc.

Change colors within Round 4 by drawing new color through the last two loops of the dc.

Do not break off old color.

Carry color changes under the stitches.

Break off yarn when indicated.

Rnd 1: With BL, Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st to first sc. break off BL.

Rnd 2: Join BC in any sc. Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. Sl st in 1st sc.(12 sc)

Rnd 3: Ch 2, dc in 1st sc, 2 dc in each sc around. (24 dc.) Sl st in top of beg ch-2.

Rnd 4: (This round increases every other stitch but the color changes will form the ears & neck)

Ch 2, dc in first dc, dc in next 2 dc.

Change to MC, dc in same dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc,

Change to BC, 2 dc in the next dc, dc in next 2 dc,

Change to MC, dc in same dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) twice.

Change to BC, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) twice. Dc in next 2 dc. Break off BC.

Change to MC, dc in same dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) twice.

Sl st in top of beg ch-2.

Rnd 5: Ch 2, *dc in next dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, hdc in next dc, sc in next 2 dc, hdc in next dc, ** dc in next dc, repeat from * around, ending last repeat at **. Sl st in top of beg

ch-2.

Rnd 6: ch1, sc in same st, *sc in each st across to corner. (Sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp. repeat from *

around. Sl st in 1st sc. (14 sc on each side)

Rnd 7: Sl st in next sc, sc in next sc, *ch 3, sk 2 sc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-2 sp. **(ch 3, sk next 2 sc, sc in

next sc) 4 times. repeat from * around, ending at **(ch 3, sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc) 3 times, ch 3, sl st

in first sc.

Rnd 8: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, 2 dc in same sp. *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp, **(3 dc in next ch- 3 sp) 5 times. repeat from *around, ending at **. (3 dc in next ch- 3 sp) 4 times. Sl st in top of beg ch-2.

Do not break off MC. hold behind work.

Rnd 9: Join accent color in any corner ch-2 sp.(Sc, ch 3, sc) in same sp. *(ch 3, sk 3 dc, sc in space between stitches after the 3rd skipped dc.) 6 times. Ch 3,**(Sc, ch 3, sc) in corner ch-2 sp, repeat from * around. End last repeat at **. Sl st in 1st sc. Break off accent color.

Rnd 10: Pick up dropped loop of bg color behind work. sl st in first ch-3 sp to left of loop. Ch 2, 2 dc in same sp. 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, * (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, **(3 dc in next ch-3 sp) 7 times. Repeat from * around. End last repeat at ** (3 dc in next ch-3 sp) 5 times. Sl st in 1st dc.

Rnd 11: Ch 1, Sc in each dc around working (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner ch-2 spaces. Slip st and finish off.

Draw in tails. Embroider eyes and mouth.

Necktie: Using accent color, ch 12, working in back loops of chain, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch. end off hide tails. stitch onto bears neck around center sc. To make tie shorter, fold ends around to the back of the tie and tack in place.
